Lately we have had many requests from visitors to this site asking which restaurants cater for gluten free diets. I have added a few quality restaurants here that offer gluten free, Vegan and Vegetarian, more specialty restaurants will be added once reviews come in... I do have to apologise for the lack of information at this stage but as the mom to a daughter who suffers severe allergies I realise the need for accurate info on suitable restaurants and the research may take some time. Ethos Vegan Kitchen
Ethos Vegan Kitchen is located near Downtown Orlando on N. Orange Avenue. The restaurant, as the name suggests, is Vegan and offers homestyle cooking which is mainly prepared in house. Ethos Vegan Kitchen is owned and run by husband and wife team, Kelly and Laina Shockley. Kelly previously owned and operated the popular Vegan Hot Dog stand in the area and due to moral ethics decided to switch to a vegan diet in 2002. As with anyone who switches diet, whether it be due to ethics or health reasons, Kelly was unhappy with the choice of eateries available and started to think of opening his own restaurant. Anyone who is Vegan or has to eat a gluten free diet should be thankful of the day Kelly decided to become Vegan because from that choice developed one of the best restaurants in the Central Florida area. Laina has the business acumen and takes care of financial planning while still finding the time and interest to devise new recipes for Ethos. Outback Steakhouse
The Outback Steakhouse was recommended to me around seven years ago. The restaurant has an Australian theme, friendly staff, clean premises and good food. The Outback also offers a gluten free menu and a Spanish menu (which is a little strange for an Australian themed diner.) The Kissimmee and Orlando areas provide a good selection of vegetarian and vegan restaurants and fast food outlets. Some restaurants listed below are vegetarian in origin but do offer vegan meals if requested. Larger supermarkets, e.g. Walmart, also offer a large range of vegetarian and vegan foods which can be prepared in your villa, or cold snacks which can be eaten in a hotel room.

Dux restaurant is part of the Peabody Hotel's fine dining experience and is located on International Drive. Dux is not pure vegetarian but caters well as they offer a three course vegetarian meal which changes regularly. Pure Vegans can order a three course meal with 24 hours notice. General Menu If you are lucky enough to be at the Peabody Hotel between 11a.m to 5p.m you will see the daily march of the Peabody Ducks. The ducks are escorted from their luxury penthouse to the marble fountain in the main foyer where they climb up red carpeted stairs to frolic until 5.pm when they are then escorted back in the special elevator to their $100,000 suite
